How to Apply SikaTop® Seal-107 Waterproofing

SikaTop® Seal-107 is a two-component, polymer-modified cementitious waterproofing slurry that is easy to apply and highly effective for waterproofing concrete surfaces like basements, water tanks, and roofs.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to ensure proper installation:

Surface Preparation

1. Clean the surface thoroughly. Remove dust, oil, loose particles, old paint, or any contaminants.
2. Repair cracks or holes using a suitable Sika repair mortar.
3. Dampen the surface with clean water but avoid standing water.

Mixing Instructions

• Mix Part A (Liquid) and Part B (Powder) in a ratio of 1:4 by weight.
• Use a slow-speed drill (400–600 rpm) with a mixing paddle for 3–5 minutes until a smooth, lump-free slurry is achieved.
• Do not add extra water.

Application Method

• Apply with a brush, trowel, or roller.
• First Coat: Spread the slurry evenly in one direction (horizontal or vertical).
• Let it cure for 4–8 hours (depending on temperature).
• Second Coat: Apply the second layer perpendicular to the first one for maximum strength.

🔁 Two coats are recommended for waterproofing.

Curing Time

• Protect the applied surface from direct sun, wind, and rain for at least 24 hours.
• Full curing typically takes 3 to 5 days.

Tips for Best Results

• Apply only on surfaces between +5°C and +40°C.
• Use within 50 minutes of mixing (pot life).
• Do not apply on wet surfaces with standing water.
• For high-exposure areas, reinforce with waterproof mesh between coats.
